Welcome To The Auction!

2016 has been filled with challenging moments of intolerance, intense heartbreak and threats to individual identity. Through it all we’ve been consistently reminded that the power of friendship, acceptance and love is stronger than anything else.

That's why this year Canada’s leading culturally diverse theatre company - Obsidian Theatre Company - is celebrating the good. Passionately dedicated to the development of the Black voice in theatre, Obsidian is partnering with Toronto’s The Peer Project, to recognize the importance of feeling supported, gaining acceptance and being proud of who you are.

To do so, Obsidian, along with a few Toronto celebrities, have created paper kites. Inspired by the season's first production “Master Harold”… and the Boys by Athol Fugard, these kites demonstrate a recurring theme in Obsidian's 16th season – taking pride in yourself.

"If you really want to know, that's why I made you the kite. I wanted you to look up, be proud of something, of yourself ..." – Sam, “Master Harold” … and the Boys.

All proceeds from these kites will be split between Obsidian & The Peer Project in hope that these kites will raise awareness of the incredible work done by both in fostering strong, supportive relationships through mentorship.
